Happy New Year! MHP is back in the office starting tomorrow, January 2nd. To all of those brides who received a ring over Christmas and New Years, cheers to a fabulous 2013! We hope you make your wedding planning fun this year and we’ve got just the thing to get you started!
We are thrilled to be a part of Courtyards and Cobblestones – A Walk Through Wedding Row, a fantastic bridal event taking place in Downtown Wilmington on January 12th. Last year’s event was a sell out and brides have been talking all year about how much fun they had and what a great experience it was for planning their wedding day. You will be led on a guided tour to six of Wilmington’s finest downtown venues and experience a collection of vendors in each location that have teamed up to show you what one cohesive wedding will look and feel like in that space.
Come out and get a chance to visualize a wedding in each space and meet the wedding professionals who teamed up in that venue! Meet our MHP team, coordinators, florists, caterers, cake artists, getaway transportation, videographers, you’ll even find custom wedding papers and more. There will also be a chance to jump in our TruthBooth for a new facebook profile photo! If that wasn’t enough our sponsors, Reeds Jewlers, The Wedding Dress Shoppe and Pressed Cotton all have fabulous giveaways from jewelry to wedding dresses and a shopping spree!
If you are getting married in Wilmington (even if you already have your event venues picked) get tickets to this show! If you know someone who is getting married, help us spread the word… it’s a gold mine of inspiration and ideas even if many of your wedding decisions have already been made. We would love to see your face on January 12th! MHP will be located at The Atrium and St. Thomas Preservation Hall this year so be sure to find us and say hello!

Attention parents: we are making your life even easier because just like last year, this session fee also includes 25 Christmas Cards, which we promise to have in your hands, ready to address by December 3rd. Don’t have kids? That’s okay! You can play, too! Just read below for details.
This set is only two days of shooting and it’s sure to fill VERY quickly (Christmas is always our busiest time for Shoots & Ladders). So, email us to book right away!
DETAILS
$150 session fee includes a family photo and individual images of your children during a 20 minute mini session (up to 3 kids – $25 per additional child) + 25 5×7 Christmas Cards (complete with envelopes)
location: 15 S 2nd Street. Wilmington, NC (must have an appointment, no walk ins)
dress: Think Christmas gather around the living room fire. You can hang up your coats, hats and scarves and show off that festive holiday attire you’ve been wanting to wear. You can even think Christmas Eve at home and come in your favorite PJ’s!
We’ll present the images (4-6 proofs) to you online on Thursday, November 15th. To get your cards back by December 3rd we’ll need you to order these right away!

mhp is growing again – lucky number 7!

At Millie Holloman Photography, we’re a pretty lucky bunch. We get to work with amazing couples and families during the happiest times of their lives. We get to express our creativity while earning a living. We have a happy staff that feels like family (and in fact many of us are!) And, with this new announcement, we hope you’ll feel lucky too. Now, you can choose from seven different MHP photographers. Our newest team, Claire and Lindsey, will look familiar to you. Both have been with Millie Holloman Photography in other roles for a while.
Lindsey has been with MHP since the age of 15! She started as a part-time helper, carrying Millie’s bags at photography shoots. Eight years later, with years of image editing, album designing and assistant photography under her belt, Lindsey is stepping into a photographer role. Her classes in Design, Fashion Marketing and Business will all come in handy! She’ll partner with Claire Strebeck.
Claire, who has a BA in Studio Art from Mississippi College, has dabbled in photography for years. In early 2009, Claire launched her own photography business and attended a Love Affair workshop where she met Millie and her team. When Claire’s husband, a Youth and Worship leader, was transferred to a church in the Wilmington area, Claire closed her Mississippi-based business and joined the Millie Holloman Photography team. She has spent the past year learning the MHP style as an Office Assistant and Assistant Photographer.
Together, these two sweet, sassy, spunky Southern Belles make a great team. To learn more about them, see their About Us page. They are available immediately to book 2012 and 2013 weddings, portraits, and events. Please join me in congratulating them in their new roles!

off for vacation + relaxation

The MHP offices are closed until July 25th. We will be tubing around the mountains for a little rest and relaxation. Please be patient if you email or call the office this week, we will return emails and phone calls on July 25th.
While we are away, if you’d like to sign up for our Summer Fun Shoots & Ladders Sessions we still have space and Claire will be checking her email all week!

This August I’ve been given the privilege of speaking at Pictage’s Uber Pug in Nashville, Tenessee. I’m super excited to speak again as I’ve taken a break from teaching and speaking for the last year to refresh and work on my own business. The best part of all? Pictage is offering this event for a steal of a deal, the price is so good you’d be crazy not to sign up. I hope you’ll join me! They keep the number in attendance low at these events so the speakers will have time to be more relational and everyone can meet one another, I’m looking forward to it.
