From the first time I chatted with Jayme & Andy over the phone about their wedding day I knew they were going to be a fun couple to photograph. They are full of energy and I could hear them smiling when we would talk. I was right! We spent an hour walking around downtown Wilmington and getting to know one another a little better. I learned a lot of fun facts about their love story and the two of them. They met through close friends with a quick hello then one year later they had their first date. They even attended the same high school but didn’t meet until 7 years after graduation, crazy! These two live near Chicago, but for their wedding in May I get to travel to the Outer Banks and I can’t wait!

Jayme & Andy, My favorite thing about you two is the joy you bring. I can’t help but smile when I’m around you both! See you in May!

Last year around this time we made friends with an amazing woman named Farmer Faye. She invited us out to her farm, Old McFaye’s, to meet her newly born lambs and take Amanda & Brent’s maternity photos. I loved all of the animals, so shortly after, we returned to the farm so that my nephew, Gavin, could experience the fun. Recently Faye told me they had new lambs born and she thought of us and the maternity shoot we did almost a year ago. Genevieve LOVES animals and the lambs were only six days old, so we knew this would be the perfect opportunity to capture her 9 month portraits. We headed out to the farm, this time with friends in tow to experience the fun. Thank you Faye for always being such a gracious host and allowing us to visit, we love you!
Our next Shoots & Ladders Session will be at Old McFaye’s Farm so stay tuned for details this coming week! Here is a little sneak peek at so much cuteness my heart can hardly contain it.

OMG! Those are some of the cutest pics i’ve ever seen! The ones with the baby lamb laying on the blanket with Genevieve & Keen are just perfect. Love!
The cuteness is too much. I love that the baby lamb seems to be completely enjoying him/herself. Adorable!
You have to SMILE when you see this photo shoot! Precious!!!
This is too much cuteness! Amazing captures, Millie!
Happy & Bill’s engagement session was my last photo shoot of 2012, New Years Eve to be exact. I met up at their beach cottages’, that’s right plural. The reason they have two cottages side by side? That’s my favorite part of their story, they grew up side by side, their families even shared a dock. Both went their separate ways and now life has brought them together in a new and exciting way. They are getting married this April! Now they’ll share much more than a dock and their families could not be happier, neither could they. Loved hanging out with these two!

Happy & Bill, It isn’t often that neighbors and friends for life become such an integral part of your future, what a blessing! I so enjoyed our time laughing and getting to know one another. Perhaps my favorite part was getting to see how perfectly smitten Bill is with you and how “happy” you are to be with him (no pun intended).
Love this session Millie!
The blogs are coming folks. We’ve been shooting like crazy for the last several months and now things are slowing down just enough for us to get some blogs up before the wedding season kick off again. We’ll be back soon with lots more but for now here is a little peek of my morning. I had a one-2-one mentoring session today and one of our photographers, Claire, and her husband, Welsey, were kind enough to model for me. When I do one-2-one’s I typically edit the session the same day while teaching so I thought I would get it up quickly. I shot a little film too and I can’t wait to get that back! Enjoy!

Great shots of gorgeous people (inside and out) and the last shot made me laugh out loud:)!
What an awesome session Millie!
AHHHH! Look at her! She is GORGEOUS!
OMG! How cute is this? LOve it
