A Couple of Musicians Who Love Good Design and Each Other. They were only 15. They met at youth group. She was the new girl in town. He plied her with 20 questions because he wanted to win a free milkshake. She thought he was weird and a little bit annoying. With Millie, she found a true friend; with Brent (Millie’s brother), she found true love. While they dated, he started making her mixed tapes. He’s been making them for her ever since (at last count, she has 51). They got married in 2006 on the anniversary of their first date. Their happily ever after looks like a shotgun-style bungalow with a piece of organ from an abandoned church adorning one wall (she plays piano) and artfully arranged letter press trays adorning another (he’s an alum of the Savannah College of Art and Design). Their first-born is a cutie named Genevieve, Vie for short. Other nicknames include Munchkin, Sugar, Squirt, Baby Boo, Darlin’ and L’il Miss. Milo, the couple’s 5-year-old long-haired miniature Dachshund, loves to shower Vie with kisses.

Brent makes weekly silhouettes of his growing girl and annual Valentine cards on his homemade letter press for Amanda. She has a tattoo that reads “You’re Pressed Upon My Heart”. On their first anniversary, they tattooed wedding bands on their ring fingers as a symbol of their permanent union (it’s the only wedding band he wears these days). He may not wear a band, but he plays in one. He’s co-creator of Beta Radio, an Indie folk band whose original songs have been featured on network television shows. She backs up the band with vocals, piano and glockenspiel. When she gets really mad, he always finds a way to crack her up. When she cooks for him, he melts. He cannot remember anything; she never forgets. She loves pickles; he can’t stand them! He loves bacon; she won’t touch it! But they both love sushi, the band Wilco, movies, geo-caching, Dexter, and, of course, each other.
