Michelle and Paul’s wedding graced the pages of the June 2012 North Carolina Knot so I’ve been waiting a while to blog this one! The wedding day wrapped up an entire week of celebration from their Welcome Dinner to the Rehearsal Dinner followed by an after party. What a weekend of events!

michelle + paul . rehearsal dinner

It was a windy but beautiful evening for a Rehearsal dinner on The Harbourside Pavilion Tent Lawn at Bald Head Island. Lots of fun touches like custom coasters and drink stirrers and the tent was filled with 280 paper lanterns to make one stunning display. Guests enjoyed dinner on the lawn, then moved into the tent and back lawn for dancing, smores, and bocce ball into the evening.

I’ve been holding off on blogging this wedding until The Knot released it in their June 2012 North Carolina issue. They featured the wedding only but there was so much more to this event than the wedding day, it was a 3 day event! The weekend kicked off with a welcome dinner at the Grooms Father’s home on Bald Head Island with a fun tropical theme to welcome their friends and family! The night was complete with a cigar bar, an ice luge, live music, amazing views of the marsh, and Caribbean cuisine.

Graham and Samantha are photographers in Chapel Hill, just a stones throw from us in Wilmington. However, we never had the pleasure of meeting until their session. Graham and I emailed back and forth as he told me of their plans to celebrate an upcoming one year wedding anniversary at a place that was close to their hearts, Bald Head Island. He wanted to set up a session for him and Samantha. The first day we had planned didn’t work out as scheduled because of the weather, we opted to hold out a couple of days and wound up with what I am sure was the prettiest day Bald Head Island had seen in quite some time. It could not have been more perfect!
It’s always a pleasure to shoot for and get to know other photographers. I feel like this might be the beginning of a beautiful friendship but one thing I know for sure, this is one beautiful couple!
Samantha and Graham, it really was a pleasure getting to know you both. I hope your one year anniversary was perfect! Until next year keep spinning on the beach at sunset, holding one another close, and squeezing in all the kisses you can. Hugs!

sisters’ getaway

Every year, these 6 sisters get together to celebrate their birthdays with a getaway of sorts. This year, they decided Bald Head Island was the perfect spot. I was honored when they asked me to photograph a portion of their evening together. They shared champagne and fine cheeses, exchanged gifts from faraway lands, and laughed. Boy oh boy, did this group of amazing women know how to laugh!
It was inspiring to spend time with people who have their priorities in line. Time with family is so important and I think we would all be a little happier if we took the time for each other that these sisters do.
Ladies, thank you so much for making me feel welcome! I had a wonderful time with all of you!

Oh how sweet! I have seven sisters ranging down to age 6… I can only imagine in 20 years when we get to take this same kind of vacation together! Love the photos!
