a round of applause

Bits & Pieces  |  Millie

Who in the world would have thought that a complete rebrand would have taken us over a year to accomplish?!

I started this business in 1999 while preparing to graduate high school. When I graduated college in 2005 I decided to change the name of the business and pursue photography full time. A couple of years later, I added associates and began teaching workshops. MHP went from zero to sixty miles per hour in no time, and it was all we could do to keep our images processed and our clients happy.

In the process of building this business, I’ve learned things—a lot of things. I’ve felt for a long time that our brand didn’t quite “fit,” so I went on a journey to discover what did. This new brand and website is a culmination of the things I discovered along the way. I could not be happier to say we finally have a brand that fits us. This brand is much more than a website. We’ve given the entire company a complete renovation from the way we communicate with our clients, to our processes, and our online presence. Welcome to our new home!

Please be sure to change your RSS feed because we’ve moved our blog location in the process and would love it if you would join us here.

There is a lot more on the way, including our “Get Matched Quiz” and many fun surprises in coming weeks and month. Stay tuned, we’ve got big plans, and we hope to bring you along for the ride!

How can I introduce this project without also recognizing the people who spent countless hours on it?

Brent – I started with a vision but you had the skill to bring it all together and make it better than I dreamed! The perfectionism with which you approach every part of your design will take you far, and we are grateful to be a small part of your success. I could never have asked for a better brother and graphic designer.

William – We pushed you, you pushed yourself and look at this beautiful website! I appreciate your drive to do something new and different and your energy and excitement while doing it.

Amanda – Your encouragement, commitment and support means more than you will ever know. Who knew I could find someone who would work as hard as I do and treat my business like it is their own. I’m so grateful for God’s provision of you in my life.

Charlene – Your friendship means so much to me. I know I’m tough but you are incredible. You hung in there, you caught the vision, and you carried it farther than I could alone. Thank you for creating such amazing copy!

Parrish – You kept me smiling. With each new video you sent my way, you nailed it. These videos remind me of the purpose behind what we do, and for that I will always be grateful.

To the best clients in the world (ours) who had a part in this project (you know who you are) – Thank you for speaking your heart, opening yourselves up to us, kissing, laughing, loving and being you. Hugs!

Melanie, Davina, & Sarah J Bray – You asked me the hard questions, you pushed me to consider new ways of doing something, you sparked a new creative flame in me. I look forward to many more deep conversation about all things business and branding!

Beta Radio – You have so graciously allowed us to use your beautiful music throughout our videos. Your music brings joy to many, please never stop creating!

    Dear Millie & team!
Your new website and blog look stunning! I love the new look, the yellow here and there, and all the cute little features! I really love the poster “7 things to remember” and wondered if you designed that yourself? Or purchased it somewhere?! I would love to know and get a copy if possible – it’s beautiful!
The new space is also very pretty! I really like the design and it totally matches what your website and blog is showing about you! (Since I haven’t yet met any of you in real life)
    Happy Thanksgiving!

Engagement  |  Rebecca  |

I got to travel to Columbus, Ohio for Kristen and Andrew’s engagement session!  I had never been there before, but I found Columbus to be an absolutely beautiful city!  It was the perfect fall day, the leaves were just beginning to change, and there was just a touch of chill in the air.  Perfect for two snuggling love-birds!

Kristen and Andrew, what I love the most about our time together is getting to see how completely and totally in love you are!

Amanda + Brent  |  Engagement  |

Brent and I had the pleasure of meeting Sigrid and Bart for their engagement session, when they came into town all the way from California! They actually moved out there together to try something new (very cool and adventurous of them). They are getting married in Florida in February and we are so pumped to be documenting the big event. Sigrid wanted to incorporate open fields, sunshine and the idea of travel into their session. Of course, mother nature had some plans of her own and we had to work with light drizzles, soppy grounds and ominous clouds. But we didn’t let that stop us from having a great time!

Sigrid and Bart…on this day you reminded us to have fun in the moments we are given and hold the ones we love close.

Engagement  |  Rachel  |

Courtney and Kevin are a super sweet couple from New York. They are having a destination wedding in Wilmington, North Carolina, and thought it would be fun to do their engagement session on one of the most beautiful places in the south… Bald Head Island. We had such a great time driving around in our golf carts as I played tour guide / photographer!

Three ways I can describe Courtney and Kevin as a couple … fun spirited, engaging, and in LOVE!

Amanda + Brent  |  Weddings  |

Martine and Jake are one of those fun-loving couples who you can never forget, and there wedding was nothing less! Their spanish-styled wedding(after all, Martine is a Spanish teacher to kindergarteners) was full of colorful flags, vibrant flowers, delicious food, and great fellowship with their friends and family. It was a beautiful day filled with many unforgettable memories, lots of smiles and of course, sweet love! And if the day couldn’t get any better, Martine and Jake featured the TruthBooth at their wedding complete with sombreros, spanish lace fans, and even a piñata!

Martine’s students stopped by before the ceremony to see her dressed up in her gown. When she walked out to greet them, their smiles and gaping jaws told everything they were thinking. Several of them shouted out “Muy bonita, Mrs. Allison!”, as they looked upon their teacher. And without skipping a beat, Martine smiled back at them and said “Gracias ninos!”
