the general store

Engagement  |  Millie  |

In preparation for Courtyards and Cobblestones I spent an afternoon at 128 South photographing Laura and Ryan. Our goal was to create images that would compliment the design of the event and hang throughout the space. Here is a little peek of our old general store inspired shoot.

courtyards & cobblestones

Amanda + Brent  |  Bits & Pieces  |  Millie  |  Rachel  |  Weddings  |

At the beginning of this year, our company had the privilege of being a part of a new bridal event called Courtyards & Cobblestones. What made this event unique is how it allowed future brides and grooms the chance to tour four different venues in downtown Wilmington. A team of wedding professionals pulled together to create one cohesive wedding at each location. This gave couples the chance to picture a wedding in the space and meet the wedding professionals who teamed up in that venue!

A huge thank you to Courtyards & Cobblestones and all the wedding professionals and volunteers who participated in the day. Everything was wonderful and we have been receiving positive reviews from everyone who attended!

The first stop on the tour was The Atrium (also the home of the MHP Studio and Salt Harbor Designs). We were featured at two of the venues on the tour, The Atrium and 128 South (the last venue on the tour) so we took the opportunity to photograph the event at both of these locations!

We hope your valentines’s week has been wonderful!

tilley-gray . one week

Millie  |  Newborn  |  wilmington nc  |

Just a week after little Tilley-Gray was born she visited us in the studio for her first official debut. We tried to get her to sleep but were unsuccessful until about 2 hours into the process, she is a determined little girl that does not want to miss a thing. Here is a little peek of our session, the first image was chosen for her birth announcement!

Cat – Fly me in! It would be my pleasure. I do have a rule when I photograph babies though: When the shoot is finished, I get to hold them and cuddle them and pretend they are mine. Then when they cry, it’s back to Mom and Dad!

Millie, these are amazing. I hope you know that when Luke and I have a kid, we’re going to have to figure out a way to get you down here to photograph it. Just a heads up. There’s no one else we would trust!

Glitz, glam, Hollywood. These are just a few of the words I could use to describe Torri and Mike’s big day. This high fashion event was the talk of the town I’m sure.  Salt Harbor pulled out all of the stops which included a blue carpet aisle for guests to enter, more cocktail hours than I’ve ever seen at a wedding, a breathtaking bride, a dapper groom, amazing out of the box design, sensational food, a cabana dessert bar, an epic sunset, the list goes on, just take a peek for yourself!

Torri and Mike, the things I remember most about your day are:
1. How Torri cried when she remembered and honored her grandfather by having his cufflinks on her bouquet.
2. Mike asking me repeatedly if I thought his shoes were cool (or course they were).
3. All of the iPhones, I’ve never seen so many iPhone photos posted on Facebook from one wedding.
4. The expression on Torri’s face when she saw the tent flipped for the reception. (see the Salt Harbor blog for this shot and many more)
5. How incredibly thoughtful and giving the two of you are.

What an amazing day to remember, I’m so happy to have made your A list!

A big round of applause to the A team who made the magic happen:
