At Millie Holloman Photography, we’re a pretty lucky bunch. We get to work with amazing couples and families during the happiest times of their lives. We get to express our creativity while earning a living. We have a happy staff that feels like family (and in fact many of us are!) And, with this new announcement, we hope you’ll feel lucky too. Now, you can choose from seven different MHP photographers. Our newest team, Claire and Lindsey, will look familiar to you. Both have been with Millie Holloman Photography in other roles for a while.
Lindsey has been with MHP since the age of 15! She started as a part-time helper, carrying Millie’s bags at photography shoots. Eight years later, with years of image editing, album designing and assistant photography under her belt, Lindsey is stepping into a photographer role. Her classes in Design, Fashion Marketing and Business will all come in handy! She’ll partner with Claire Strebeck.
Claire, who has a BA in Studio Art from Mississippi College, has dabbled in photography for years. In early 2009, Claire launched her own photography business and attended a Love Affair workshop where she met Millie and her team. When Claire’s husband, a Youth and Worship leader, was transferred to a church in the Wilmington area, Claire closed her Mississippi-based business and joined the Millie Holloman Photography team. She has spent the past year learning the MHP style as an Office Assistant and Assistant Photographer.
Together, these two sweet, sassy, spunky Southern Belles make a great team. To learn more about them, see their About Us page. They are available immediately to book 2012 and 2013 weddings, portraits, and events. Please join me in congratulating them in their new roles!
It was a picture perfect day in Charlotte, North Carolina. Outside, the sun was shining, there were blue skies above, and a light breeze to hold off the southern heat. Inside, the Ballantyne Hotel was buzzing with excitement as Shanna and Anwar’s wedding party rushed through the halls to prepare for the big event. Shanna asked how Anwar was and Anwar asked how Shanna looked when I visited them in their respective dressing rooms. Have you ever been involved in a day like this? Felt the excitement in the air? Been witness to the behind the scenes of a dream wedding?
Shanna and Anwar’s day was truly special. Their first sight followed by a prayer over the marriage led by Anwar brought tears to my eyes. The moment during the ceremony when the ring bearer decided it would be a perfect time to run down the golf course was hysterical. The toasts from the wedding party were heartfelt and personal. And Anwar couldn’t keep his eyes off his bride.
On this day, what I remember most is Anwar’s victory dance. Hands raised, proud of his first dance moment with Shanna.
Katherine and Shea are quiet, easy going and full of fun! Brent and I spent the afternoon with them down at Fort Fisher where we enjoyed a cool evening among the trees and an AMAZING sunset on the beach. Thanks to Katherine and Shea for being brave among the seagulls and honest in front of the lens!
Katherine and Shea, when we look back at your session Brent and I will remember:
Watching you chase seagulls freely and the smiles on your faces as you held hands.
Your quiet giggles to one another while we watched from a distance.
How much your love shines between you.
Oh, and that seagulls don’t like jelly beans.
Katie and Austin are getting married next Spring and these two couldn’t be any sweeter! Brent and I met up with them at Wrightsville Beach for an evening of soft sunlight, warm breezes and flirtatious splashes.
Thanks again Katie and Austin; your session will always remind us to have fun with the ones we love!
Lauren and Jerry are a super sweet couple who recently tied the knot (literally) at theBrooklyn Arts Center in Wilmington, NC. Their day was packed full of personal touches from items honoring loved ones, tasty treats representing a heritage and even family and friends participating in the ceremonial music.
The families were full of excitement and Lauren and Jerry were full of love. The reception was a lot of fun and the crowd knew how to have a great time. It was a perfect day!
Lauren and Jerry, three things I will remember most about your wedding are the laughs you shared between the ones you love, the fun dance moves at the reception (even you Jerry) and the unforgettable and sustaining love you have for one another!
Of course, we would also like to thank everyone who helped make the day special to the happy couple!
