I first met the Atchison family many years ago during what was undoubtedly one of the most difficult times of their lives. Jessica’s mother called because she was expecting a baby boy, Jeremy, and he was not expected to live many hours past birth, if at all. She asked if I would come to the hospital for photos when she delivered and I agreed. When Mrs. Atchison called that December morning she told me through tears they had lost Jeremy’s heart beat and he would be delivered that afternoon. I met the family as they grieved the loss of a beautiful baby boy and photographed the entire day through tears. What a moving experience, what a gracious family, what faith I witnessed. The following year I met their family on the beach for family portraits then several years passed before we would meet again.
The Atchison’s oldest daughter, Jessica, called me to book a session with her son, Owen, a couple of years back. I remember meeting Jessica on the day Jeremy was born. I remember photographing her holding her brother and saying goodbye. I stood in the corner of the room with my camera covering my face and I wept as I documented such a tender moment. On March 11th of this year the phone call that came in from Mrs. Atchison was much different, her voice was full of excitement as she prepared to welcome her second grandchild, Ethan, into the world. Jessica was in labor and it was my privilege to walk back through those same hospital doors and photograph this family once again for a birth experience that was sure to bring a lot of happy tears and smiles to their faces. It’s such a honor to get to experience my clients most cherished moments in life, whether it be a trial or a blessing, I am reminded of how beautiful life really is!
Now it’s time for you to share in those happy moments with us. Justin, Jessica and Owen welcomed little Ethan to their family on March 11th!
To the Atchison and Dayoc family, Thank you for opening up your heart and your lives and letting me in. Thank you for letting me tell your story. Thank you for being you. Your sweet little family has a very special place in my heart!
Tamara and Bryan are the kind of couple I could be friends with for a lifetime. They are vibrant, they are fun, and their love for life and each other is completely contagious. I had the best time photographing their engagement earlier this year, and was SO looking forward to their wedding day. I started the day at a beautiful historic home in downtown Wilmington where Tamara was getting ready. It was the perfect setting for Tamara’s sweet Georgia peach personality, and her elegant southern wedding.
Tamara did an amazing job with the details of her wedding. Little pops of powder blue with the perfect subtle peach. Simple, elegant flowers. And, of course, a touch of pearls.
Fun fact about Tamara: She LOVES the movie Jurassic Park so much that they played the theme song during the ceremony. It was such a FUN touch of her personality.
Fun fact about Bryan: He doesn’t go a single DAY without wearing a suit! This is something Tamara loves about him, and it was awesome to finally see ‘THE’ Blue Suit Bryan had planned for the special day.
Best ring I’ve ever seen in all of wedding history? I think so. Great job, Bryan.
Another fantastic detail: Bryan and Tamara found this old mantle for the wedding day, and Bryan created the platform for the wedding. It was so beautiful in The Atrium.
What a fun night! Tamara and Bryan- you’re fun, you’re funny, you’re charming, and you’re both just so darn love-able! I had a fantastic time with you on your wedding day, and I wish you both the very best!

Hannah & her beau were the BRAVEST clients I have had in a long time- they shot her maternity session in the beginning of January and modeled in the freezing cold like a champs! Shivering and teeth chattering, they kept a smile on and we had a fun time hunting for pops of color, hidden docks, and bridges.
Thank you both for your easy going personalities, and your eagerness to shoot together regardless of the weather. Hannah, you are going to be a radiant mother. I’m so thrilled for the huge, exciting, wonderful adventure ahead for the both of you. Thank you for letting me be a small part!
