MHP has been through a few changes over the last year. We said goodbye to a two of our wedding photography teams. Rebecca and her husband, Joel, are expecting their third child this Spring and they have pursued some of their dreams in other career paths. Lindsey has relocated to Charlotte where she is marrying this March and she is focusing on her design work. Renee plans to travel more this year to be with family and is no longer shooting weddings. We are incredibly happy for all that is taking place in their lives right now and wish them the best. Although we remain friends, we will miss seeing them around MHP on a regular basis.
With everything switching up a bit, this made room for a new associate at MHP and we knew just the guy for the job. Meet Matt! Matt grew up around the Holloman family. We attended the same church, hung out on a regular basis, and still to this day remain friends. Matt has pursued his career in photography for the past 13 years while traveling, getting married, and having a little girl. We are happy to have a local MHP associate join our team as Matt resides in Wilmington with his family. We’ve known for a long time that Matt would eventually join MHP, we were just waiting for the right time. We are excited to announce that time is now!
Please join us in welcoming Matt to the MHP family! Matt is available portrait and wedding bookings right away. Be sure to take a peek at his portfolio by clicking here, read more about him below and even get a glimpse of his adorable family.
A Caffeinated Creative with West Coast Style. Raised down South by a strong single mama, his love of cold rainy days, writing, and hot cups of coffee, took this Wilmington native to Seattle for a spell. He owes a lot to java—his photography career (13 years and counting!) was launched at a coffeehouse where he worked as a barista. Back in Wilmington, after travelling the world, he still roasts his own beans and makes a mean cup o’ Joe. No one-trick pony, Matt also cooks. Carne asada with salsa verde, anyone? Sometimes works as an actor, but his favorite role is playing Prince Charming for an audience of one—his princess-obsessed daughter, Eden, whose daily attire often consists of full-length ball gowns and tiaras. On weekends, he and wife, Jen, lead a home-based church. (Matt went to ministry school, and pastored at a large church where he met Jen. Technically, he could marry you and photograph the wedding too!) Appreciates all things authentic; abhors the over-produced. Always on the lookout for new tunes that make him feel as good as the classics – Avett Brothers to Ella Fitzgerald. Packs light when traveling – his faith in his heart and some Rainbows on his feet.
