Life in the Fast Lane. At Millie Holloman Photography, the pace feels a lot like an exhilarating scooter ride: we zip, zag, zoom, and speed off in new directions faster than you can say "Green light!" Want to come along for the ride? Our blog will keep you up-to-date on our most recent photo shoots, our favorite finds, and our craziest shenanigans. Hold on tight. It's gonna be a fast ride!
No doubt you have seen little Marin grace our blog before! We photographed her parents wedding, their anniversary celebration, maternity photos, newborn images of sweet Marin, and then an extended family session. It’s safe to say these guys are not just our clients, they are our friends! Such a joy getting to watch her grow this year, we can’t wait to celebrate you turning one soon Marin!
What better way to celebrate an anniversary than to capture moments with your whole family? I met up with the Patrinicola family at Topsail Island where these lovely grandparents were celebrating their 50th anniversary. Their daughters, Anne and Beth, decided to give their parents this session as a gift. This sweet family session contained lots of laughter, racing in the sand, and cuddling. The silhouette in the last photo rings true, this family is full of love!
Brent and I met up with Lindsay and Drake in Raleigh at the North Carolina Museum of Art for their engagement session. This sweet couple is getting married next June. One of our favorite things we learned about them is how they met. Lindsay and Drake met through mutual friends, and one evening, Lindsay decided to give Drake a call and offered to share a bottle of Makers. And how could Drake say no to a lovely lady, drinks, and good conversation? They have been together ever since that first date and we are so excited to be joining them on this journey towards their wedding.
When we initially spoke with Jenny and Lomax they expressed their ideas for something different for their engagement session. Lomax, a film producer and creative, really connected with the work of Rodney Smith whose work reflects unique, out-of-the-box ways to feature his subjects.
In all honesty, we were pumped about the session and also a little anxious to execute our ideas in a way that was still representative of our style and who we are as photographers. The session was a success and we all had a great time working together! Thanks to Jenny and Lomax, not only were you open and willing, but your desire for something different, forced me and Brent to push our own ideas of what we can do. We can’t wait for your wedding in a few short weeks!
Jenna and Steven’s wedding was full of moments I still run through my mind. From the beginning I could feel the closeness this family had with one another. All of them had endured moments of joy, moments of grief and loss and joy and peace again. You see, Jenna’s mother passed away before she could see this dream become a happy reality. Knowing the connection I have with my own mother, I can’t imagine the hurt for everyone involved.
Of course, Jenna’s smile reflects the strength she has and the way she looks at Steven, it is obvious that his whole heart belongs to her. The wedding was a dream come to life and one that Jenna’s mother would have imagined for her sweet daughter. From a horn section playing at the ceremony, to blueberry juice straight from the family farm (which was amazing) to the little dapper ring bearer who did an exceptional job of being adorable. Jenna and Steven, your day was beautiful and very heartfelt. I am so honored to have captured these moments for you. And a special thanks to my lovely photographer friend, Davina for being with me on this day!
Thank you to all of the wedding professionals who made Jenna and Steven’s wedding a dream!
