Brent and I met up with Lindsay and Drake in Raleigh at the North Carolina Museum of Art for their engagement session. This sweet couple is getting married next June. One of our favorite things we learned about them is how they met. Lindsay and Drake met through mutual friends, and one evening, Lindsay decided to give Drake a call and offered to share a bottle of Makers. And how could Drake say no to a lovely lady, drinks, and good conversation? They have been together ever since that first date and we are so excited to be joining them on this journey towards their wedding.
Here is a look back at a poolside engagement session Brent and I photographed for Hannah and Grey. We spent the evening with this adorable duo at Hannah’s parents’ home. Their backyard was amazing, a dream to photograph, and definitely a place where one could relax and enjoy some quiet time. Stay tuned for a look at Hannah and Grey’s gorgeous wedding, coming your way tomorrow!
Several weeks ago, Brent and I had the chance to connect with Jody and Jonathan who are getting married this fall. The afternoon was full of “sheer luck” moments and perfect timings. With what I believe to be the help of my big mouth and my obvious baby bump, we had the opportunity to shoot where Jody and Jonathan met, The Carter Finley Stadium (and many, many thank you’s to the two staff members who were kind enough to let us capture these moments in the stadium).
Jody’s twin sister set her up to meet Jonathan at the football game, but might not have mentioned to Jody that a set up was actually taking place. And even though Jody brought a “friend” along to the game, it didn’t stop Jonathan from being his sweet self and getting to know Jody AND her friend. Needless to say, Jonathan’s kindness and personality won her over and the two began to see one another exclusively. Not only do they enjoy going to football games together, but they enjoy traveling, cooking and spending time on projects around their lovely home. They have a sweet pup, a curious cat, and even two chickens and a bee hive! Jody and Jonathan are just all around good people and after their session we enjoyed an evening of dinner in downtown Raleigh.
Brent and I can’t wait until the wedding because we know it’s going to be wonderful!
I have known CaryAnne and “Uncle” Brett, as my kids call him, for many years now. We all go way back to Mississippi, and I am so happy to have them so close again. CaryAnne is the sweetest little lady you will ever meet, and now is the sweetest little mama! You would never know that she was four days from her due date from these pictures. Four! Isn’t she beautiful?
Some of the things I will not forget about CaryAnne and Brett’s maternity session is Brett’s gentleman-nature offering help to CaryAnne at every turn, and catching up with some wonderful friends. Congratulations, guys! I can’t wait for the chance to photography little Molly!
Lia and Cameron first met over ten years ago in high school while participating in marching band. Though many knew Cameron for his bright yellow mustang, Lia saw the sweet side of Cameron and decided to ask him out. One of the things we noticed about Lia and Cameron on their engagement session was how comfortable they were with one another. Of course, when you have two people that have been clicking together for over ten years it makes sense.
Lia and Cameron, thank you for reminding us that real love is unaffected by time. Whether you’ve known someone for months or years, when it’s meant to be, it’s meant to be.
