A little pre Courtyards and Cobblestones inspiration with Tess and Cliff once again as our models. Salt Harbor really nailed it with this design, we are still swooning over the copper and navy! Be sure to check out the video by Green Hope Productions which included the engagement and inspiration shoot!

Right before Courtyards and Cobblestones this year Amanda, myself and a team of creatives from Salt Harbor Designs and Green Hope Productions headed out to Greenfield Lake for an engagement inspired shoot. It was incredibly chilly and Tess and Cliff, who are one of our newly married MHP couples made the perfect models! Here is a little peek of our morning…
A special thanks to Josh Graves for bringing out his canoe on this cold and early morning!
One thing I love about photography is never really knowing what I will get when I head out for a shoot. Not only does this force me to be flexible, it requires me to think on my feet. With newborns you can increase that uncertainty because there isn’t any convincing them to pose just right or stop crying while you get a couple more shots.
Meet Vivian! She is one beautiful baby and she likes to sleep… that is until there is a camera nearby. Our first session resulted in the first three shots below, then she was a bit too unsettled to get much more. We scrapped shooting any more that day and decided to try again later. Take two was at their home and I am pretty grateful that she didn’t cooperate fully the first time because, just look at all of the special moments we might have otherwise missed!
As a photographer I have the opportunity to be with people during some of the most difficult as well as exhilarating times of their lives. When I first met the Mayo family, times were tough. Their 12 year old son, Zack, was battling terminal cancer and I asked if I could come and photograph their family one afternoon. I had followed their journey online through friends and prayed for Zack and his family daily. It was a pleasure getting to meet Zack, his little brother Nick, Mom and Dad in person and an honor for me to be able to photograph their family. When Zack passed away a few short months later my heart was broken for them.
Fast forward from 2010 to 2015… this time around, the Mayo family called me with much joy and enthusiasm. They welcomed little Samuel into their world in December, quite a bit earlier than expected. He spent a couple of months in NICU growing stronger until he was finally home, ready for his big photo shoot! By example Zack taught Nick how to be an amazing big brother. You can already tell by how attentive and happy Nick is that he’s got the big brother thing down! I am so happy for this family and their new addition. Their life even in the most difficult times, has been a true example of the joy we have through Christ. It’s such a blessing to see a little more sunshine added to their life!
Kc and Dana, your wedding day was perfect and thank you for letting us be the ones to capture the moments.
